The Kodama expansion introduces small luminous beings into the circle: you can now use flowers to summon Kodama and add new cards to your deck, while Onibi presses harder than before. The expansion introduces new guardian trees, element tokens, guardian animals, a dedicated solo mode, and more tactical choices that liven up both family and evening rounds. Requires the Living Forest base game. 

In practice, you get a completely new action (Call a Kodama) that allows you to buy Kodama cards once per round. The Kodama symbols provide bonuses and interaction with new trees and element tokens, and Onibi threatens the circle more directly – creating exciting priorities between extinguishing fires, planting trees, and collecting flowers.
